Craniosacral Therapy (Adults)

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy is very gentle; it is a hands‑on treatment that helps the body release tension and find a more comfortable way of being. It uses light touch to support the natural rhythms and movements within the body. Many people experience a deep sense of calm and relaxation during a session. The work is subtle, but it aims to help the whole system function with more ease. It's suitable for people of all ages and is carried out fully clothed.

What Happens in a CranioSacral Therapy Session?

Each session is tailored to the needs of the individual. Clients usually lie on their back on a treatment table, although the position can be adjusted for comfort. In CranioSacral Therapy, the therapist palpates the gentle natural movements of the body — a little like listening with the hands. By following these subtle rhythms, the therapist decides where to begin treatment, often placing one hand under and one hand over the area being worked on.

As the treatment progresses, people often feel warmth, deep relaxation, and a sense of calm. Memories or emotions may gently surface. After a session, clients frequently describe feeling grounded, calm, relaxed, and experiencing a reduction in pain, discomfort, or tension.

What does a session feel like?

Most people experience deep relaxation. The touch is light and non‑invasive, and you remain fully clothed throughout. Warmth, calmness, and a sense of release are common as the session unfolds.

What can Craniosacral Therapy help with?

People often seek CST for tension, stress, discomfort, or to support their general wellbeing. Common reasons include:

  • Pain — back, neck, joint discomfort
  • Headaches and migraine
  • Jaw issues and TMJ
  • Stress, anxiety, overwhelm, difficulty relaxing
  • Digestive discomfort
  • A desire to feel more relaxed and balanced
  • Fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum support

CST is a whole‑body approach that aims to help you feel more at ease.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone responds differently. The number and frequency of sessions is always led by the client — it's important that people feel in control of their own treatment plan. Some notice changes quickly, while others benefit from a series of sessions over time.

Is Craniosacral Therapy Safe?

CST uses extremely gentle techniques and is suitable for a wide range of people. The pressure used is so light that it is safe for all ages — from newborn babies just hours old to older adults. If you have specific concerns, you can discuss them before your session.

Do I need to undress?

No — you stay fully clothed for the entire treatment.

What should I expect after a session?

People often report feeling calmer, lighter, or more grounded, often with a reduction in pain, discomfort, or tension. Occasionally you may feel tired as your body adjusts.

Paediatric Craniosacral Therapy (Babies & Children)

Is Craniosacral Therapy safe for babies?

CST for babies uses exceptionally light touch and is widely chosen by parents seeking gentle support. I have worked with babies from just a few hours old through to older children and have performed over 10,000 baby treatments. There are no sudden movements or forceful adjustments — CST is slow, gentle, and always responsive to the baby or child.

What happens during a baby session?

Sessions begin with a conversation about your baby or child, your hopes for treatment, and any relevant details about pregnancy, birth, or feeding. Treatment only begins when you feel ready.

Your baby may be held, cradled, or treated while lying on a soft surface. Feeding, cuddling, rocking, nappy changes, or breaks are all welcome. The session follows the baby's pace. I keep spare clothes and wipes available, so even refluxy babies are completely welcome.

Babies often become deeply relaxed and may fall asleep. Parents frequently comment on how calm their baby looks during treatment.

What can Paediatric CST support?

Parents commonly seek support for:

  • Feeding difficulties (before or after tongue‑tie division)
  • Reflux
  • Colic
  • Tense or unsettled babies
  • Tight necks or flat heads (torticollis, plagiocephaly, brachycephaly)
  • Digestive discomfort or constipation
  • A general checkover to release tension from pregnancy and birth

Do parents stay in the room?

Yes — you are with your baby at all times.

How long is a baby session?

First appointments typically last 45–60 minutes. Follow‑up sessions are usually 30–40 minutes.

What if my baby cries or won’t settle?

Crying, wriggling, feeding, or needing breaks are all normal. The treatment adapts to your baby's natural rhythms. Parents are often surprised by how calm even unsettled babies become.

Can older children receive CST?

Yes — CST is suitable for children of all ages, with techniques adapted appropriately. I often say the youngest baby I've treated (other than my own) was 5½ hours old, and the oldest "baby" was 94 years old.

Sports Therapy / Sports Massage

What is Sports Therapy?

Sports Therapy is a hands‑on approach using movement, soft‑tissue techniques, and targeted exercises to support comfort, mobility, and physical performance.

Do I need to be an athlete?

Not at all — I work with professional athletes and people who find stairs challenging, and everyone in between. Sports Therapy is for anyone experiencing tension, aches, or movement‑related discomfort from sport, work, posture, or daily life.

What happens in a session?

You'll discuss what you're experiencing, then receive hands‑on treatment combined with movement‑based work tailored to your goals.

Does Sports Massage hurt?

Pressure is always adjusted to your comfort level. The aim is effective treatment without unnecessary discomfort.

What can Sports Therapy help with?

People often seek support for muscle tightness, stiffness, movement restrictions, or to aid recovery and physical wellbeing.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing that allows movement. Depending on the area being treated, you may be asked to adjust clothing slightly, but your comfort is always prioritised.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies depending on your goals — some people come for occasional maintenance, others for focused short‑term support.
